How do you convert milliliters to grams?
Multiply the volume in milliliters by the ingredient's density in g/ml. Milliliters measure volume and grams measure mass: without knowing the substance, the conversion cannot be done.
Example: 200 ml of honey (density 1.42) → 200 × 1.42 = 284 g.

How many grams is 250 ml?
For water, 250 ml weighs exactly 250 g. For milk, expect 258 g; for oil, 230 g; for honey, 355 g. The ingredient's density changes everything.
Why does oil weigh less than water for the same volume?
Oil has a density of about 0.92 g/ml, below water's. That is also why it floats: for an identical volume, it is lighter.
Can I weigh a liquid with a measuring jug?
Yes for water and similar liquids (stock, juice), where 1 ml ≈ 1 g. For oil, honey or syrup the gap becomes significant: use a scale or the converter above.
Does hot water weigh the same as cold water?
No, for the same volume it is slightly lighter because it has expanded. Water is 1.000 g/ml near 4 °C, 0.998 at 20 °C and only 0.958 at 100 °C: 500 ml of boiling water weighs 479 g, 21 g less than the same cold measure. Oils expand faster still, around 0.7 % for every 10 °C.
How much does 100 ml of alcohol weigh?
Pure alcohol weighs only 0.79 g/ml, so 100 ml of ethanol is 79 g. Diluted, it climbs back towards water: a 40 % vodka sits near 0.95, so 250 ml weighs about 237 g. Wine and beer stay close to 1.00 because residual sugars offset the alcohol.
