A converter that explains what it computes
Unitversal converts weight, length, volume, temperature, area, speed, time, power and data units, in ten languages and without advertising. The arithmetic runs in your browser: no value you type is sent to a server, and a page you have already opened keeps converting with no connection at all.
The difference lies in what follows the result. An ounce is 28.35 grams, a fluid ounce 29.57 millilitres, and the two are easily confused. The US gallon is 3.785 litres, the imperial one 4.546: a twenty percent gap on a tank of fuel. A metric horsepower is 735.5 watts, a mechanical one 745.7. A 1 TB drive shows 931 GB without anyone having short-changed you. Every page states where its factor comes from, when it stops being reliable, and what changes from one country to the next.
Content is written in each language rather than translated from a single original. That is why the Arabic edition discusses the feddan, the Hindi one the bigha and the Japanese one the tsubo: those are the units those readers look for before the acre.
